This Holiday As you pick grab bag names and look for holiday ideas dont be afraid to be crative. I would recommend creating a slideshow Montage for anyone. They can be very creative and fun to make. My Appreciation of photos has been ongoing for a few years now. I generally like to take my camera along with me on any event, trip, or even a nice planned day with family and capture moments. This came in very helpful around christmas time.
I have been in a relationship with a girl from an Itallian family for quite some time now. When the time came for me to be introduced to their annual holiday christmas grab I became quite anxious. I decided because Italians and especially this family are so grounded into family and tradition I would have to come up with an idea that was unique and touching at the same time.
I though of photos, which are nice and you can buy a nice frame and all can be well. But my idea had to be a little more creative. I then found a program installed on my computer entitled Windows Movie Maker. The grab I had chosen at the time was for her sister, who was quite close in age to my girlfriend and in a pretty serious relationship. We had at the time attended numerous events, winters in Boston, Comedy Shows, weekend get togthers, local events and family functions...hence I had quite a collection of photos. She was also a fan of the Black Eyed Peas.
The first obstacle you have to overcome when making a slideshow mantage is song choice. Your Song should somehow coincide with a visual of the story you have to tell. I found the song Big Girls Don't Cry to be a perfect match as she is quite emotional at times. The lyrics,if you liten to them closely, deal with childhood to adulthood experiences as seen through a young womans eyes...or at least theats what I presumed.
With song choice checked the organization of the photos is you next hurdle. The tempo of the song and mood of the song should be related somehow to the photos you select. Depending on particualars this can be quite time consuming. My projects usually take a few days to perfect. If you think about it scrolling through an average song is about 5 minutes and correspoding photos to that sing usually requires quite a few go rounds on that song to get the Montage to my liking.
Another great feature Movie Maker allows you to do is to insert a video clip... I usually od this if there is a musical run without lyrics for a small period of time. A Video somehow brings your photo montage a degree of life not normally seen in a slideshow.
When complete you are allowed to save your file to your computer. The next step I take is converting the MPG file to a plyable DVD file. My preferred way of doing this is by using IM Too Movie converter, a program I found online for such tasks. It can conert your file to a format where you can burn a copy on a DVR recordable DVD to be played in a DVD player.
