The human brain is the faculty of human intelligence. The brain has infinite potentials and capabilities we can ever imagine. And yet, we never seem to quite find its full potential. Some of us forget learning once we leave school, and do not bother learning new things afterwards. The development of mind stops the moment we give up learning and new experiences. If you want to use your brain's potential fully, if you want to awaken your mind once again, you can do so by development of mind techniques, stress methods and relaxing methods discussed here. You can do plenty mind techniques to improve your mind, some of then which you can do at the comforts of your own home.

1. Practice spatial and visualizing exercises.

Picture a three dimensional object in your mind and spin it 360 degrees again and again. You can start with simpler geometrical shapes such as triangles, cylinders, or cubes. Afterwards you can now move to more complicated shapes. Improve your spatial ability by doing this brain exercise as often as you can. Try visualizing yourself skipping around the galaxy. Visualize yourself zooming around the Milky Way and skipping from one planet to another. Imagine splitting yourself into a dozen pieces and going to different places, and then meeting with your dozen selves and restricting yourselves into one again.

2. Meditate.

Meditation is an important development of mind technique to improve brain-body communications. Try meditation techniques such as the 'trataka' to rest and calm the mind. Make sure to meditate in a quiet room, where you can be alone. To do the 'trataka', sit cross-legged with your spine erect. Place a light candle at eye level a meter away from you. Close your eyes, and concentrate on your breathing. Open your eyes and look directly into the candle's brightest spot. Maintain gaze for 2-3 minutes. Close your eyes, and you will be able to see the bright image as if your eyes are still open. Concentrate on the image till it fades out. Repeat three more times. This technique will rest and sooth your mind.

3. Try up music lessons.

Music is a complicated subject that requires great mental activity. Music exercises a wide range of mental skills, requiring accurate finger movements, tempo, pitch and rhythm. It exercises the right side of the brain a great deal.

4. Exercise organization in your own habit and your own space.

A neat and organized place makes quite a difference in improving your brain's concentration. By keeping your space organized, placing your things in the same place, and writing things down to avoid forgetting them, you can clear off your mind off unnecessary things and become more focused and less forgetful.

5. Neuro-feedback.

Neuro-feedback is basically a new development of mind technique that has gained scientific credibility. It works by showing patients a real-time measure of an involuntary aspect of physiology (heart rate, breathing, etc.) and encourage the people to change it. Surprisingly, many patients actually could. However, they cannot describe or comprehend how they actually did it.
